CJCP Instant Decision Days

Instant decision days are an important part of the college application process. With the first graduating class this year, CJCP utilized this opportunity to save money and assist seniors with college applications. We had 6 instant decision days on our campus for 2009-2010 academic year. Our seniors met with college representatives and had personal interviews. Students have no obligation to attend the college if they receive an instant decision. Approximately 55 applications were submitted through this process, resulting in fee waivers. Overall $2,200.00 was saved by our students for college application fees through instant decision days.

Turkish Olympiad

Our students attended the 3rd annual Turkish Olympiad on March 6, 2010. Our Turkish language club and Folk Dance Club worked hard for the Olympiad. Nzinga Johnson and Dondre Smiley, coached by Mr. Hakan, performed "Zeybek"-Western Turkey Traditional Dance. Moreover, Mrs. Sims' Turkish Club students; DeLisa Thompson, Brianna Smith and Afra Dur competed in the same order in poem, singing, and poem for native speaker categories.
As you may know, last year our school participated in the Turkish Olympiads for the first time. Aciya Jenkins of 11th grade became the first place and earned a fellowship to travel to Turkey and represent our school and the United States of America. It was a great honor for our school that participated in the competition for the first time to have a student representing United States among 115 nations.

National Honor Society Chapter Founded

National Honor Society of CJCP Chapter was founded and started working right away. Currently the staff members are evaluating the students in terms of their academics, character, service and leadership. The faculty council will meet later on for the selection. The induction ceremony will follow the selections.

Charter Renewal

We are proud to announce that our charter has been renewed for another five-year term. CJCP has successfully completed a rigorous review of its program, fiscal-related activities, and academic performance. While renewing the charter, Acting Commissioner Bret Schundler also approved the plans to accept a class of 6th graders for 2011-2012 academic year. We would like to thank all of our students, parents, and staff for their support and hard work.

Teachers' Websites

Teacher websites provide additional resources to students at CJCP. While accessing information about class work students can also benefit from the links and additional materials posted on our teachers' websites. To visit a teacher website you will need to enter their username after the school address or you can just click here for a list.

New Website Feature to invite comments

The CJCP website has a new feature for you to post your comments about the school called the CJCP Comment Box; see the icon on right below. This is made available for CJCP students, parents, teachers, and anyone in the CJCP community to make comments or reports and give their ideas about how to improve the school.
