Science Olympiad is Around the Corner
Aaliyah Brown (7) and Briana Smith (8) are working on their Anatomy project. The girls are learning the names of all the bones and muscles in the human body for their test. It’s high flying adventure for Travis Smith (7) and Michael Smith (7), who are working with Mr. Yildiz to build a plane and show that they have the “Wright Stuff” . The boys are also working on a project involving meteorology, or weather. Bridging the gap are Karleidy Estevez (7) and Jamill Monroe-Mendez (7), who have been learning about and building suspension bridges out of balsa wood for the Elevated Bridge competition. Junior Chemists Mikhail Velez (7) and Georgina Denis (7) have been testing all sorts of chemical properties of compounds for their “Can’t Judge a Powder” competition, and learning about the importance of giving accurate instructions for their “Write It: Do It” challenge. Harshita Sahay (8) and Nathanael Paige (8) are becoming experts at using the computer program Excel for their “Compute This” challenge, while “rocking” and rolling along with their Dynamic Planet (Earth Science) challenge on volcanoes and earthquakes. |
