Mother's Day Celebrated
CJCP celebrated Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 9th. Parents, students, teachers and administrators gathered at the CJCP cafeteria and had an unforgettable Saturday morning/afternoon. Mr. Icin greeted the guests by the door and congratulated their mother’s day by giving the mothers roses. The event started around 11AM due to the inclement weather. Brianna Patterson of 12th grade was the hostess of the event, she started the program by reading a poem for her mom then invited other students to the stage to read poems for their moms. Among the students were Leah Rainbow, Shorien Tard, Harshita Sahay, and Mychael Mason. Mychael’s authentic poem about his mom was very genuine and loved by everyone. Here is Mychael’s poem… As the host of the event, Brianna also asked for mother-student volunteers to come up to the stage and have them play a mother’s day game. The contestants were asked questions about the mother then wrote down the answer within 1 minute time limit. Then Brianna compared the answers, if they gave the same answer, they were presented with surprise gifts. The surprise guest of the event was Michael Lewis’ great grandmother who was visiting from London. She received everyone’s admiration for coming to her great grandson’s school to attend the mother’s day celebrations. Around noon, guests helped themselves to get BBQ, chicken, and sausages. The meal finished with the delicious Turkish delight and coffee/tea. We all hope to see you next year! Happy mother’s days…
