Olweus Kickoff
On Wednesday, November 4th, CJCP students were
introduced to Olweus Bullying Prevention Program through fun activities,
presentations and group discussions. Bullying prevention starts with education.
The Olweus Program is one of the most researched and best-known bullying
prevention programs available today. While learned about types of bullying,
students also had fun through cooperative learning games.
CJCP Robotics @
Brunswick Eruption
CJCP Robotics Fans are invited to the practice day at
North Brunswick high school on Oct 31, 2009 Saturday called "Brunswick
Eruption". There will be scrimmage between teams and fun activities from
8 am to 4 pm. The event is open to CJCP students. Hope you will have a fun
day of learning and watching the competitions.
TEAR Presentation
During our Violence Awareness
week CJCP had TEAR present to the students and inform them of abusive
relationships. TEAR stands for Teens Experiencing Abusive Relationships. TEAR
is an organization founded by teens in 2003 with the mission to prevent
dating abuse through education. They work to educate society about the
complexities and seriousness of violent dating relationships. Students 7th
through 12th grade were about to participate in some of their activities and
ask questions about abusive relationships. We hope through various
presentations like this one we help CJCP mold well rounded students and
prevent any tragedies from occurring.
First Interim
Assessment
CJCP has administered
successfully the first series of Mock Tests on October 6 through 8. At their
staff meeting on October 12th teachers analyzed the preliminary results and
met as grade level teams to come up with strategies for instruction based on
their analysis. In their grade level teams, teachers discussed and designed
cross-curricular strategies to help students especially with writing and
higher order thinking skills.
