CJCP will excuse students who attend TOCTWD activities.

Are you smarter than a CJCP 7th/8th grader?

CJCP students had a chance to teach their parents a lesson about the fundamental school subjects on March 27th. Parents of 7th and 8th grade students participated in a game show prepared by Mrs. Gannon and Mr.Biyikli and hosted by Mr. Lewis. The game show, Are you smarter than a 7/8th Grader?, followed the structure of the popular TV show. Parents competed against a panel of 7/8th grade students by answering questions about math, english, science, geography and general knowledge. While everyone had a lot of fun, some parents had to face the audience, state their names, and declare `I am not smarter than a 7/8th grader.`

Interim Assessment

4th interim assessment was successfully administrated to all CJCP students on Wed, March 25th. Students were assessed on their mathematics and language art skills. Interim assessments provide useful tools to track student progress.

CJCP Visits Bloomberg

Some of our 10th and 11th grade students visited the world`s largest and most trusted source for financial news, Bloomberg Financial Institute in Princeton. Bloomberg is one of the top financial advisory companies for many Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, and Apple. Students visited several departments of the company where they were presented financial data about the U.S. economy. Students learned about the economic components of U.S. companies, e.g. how much a company like Apple earns from products like ipod and iphone and how much the CEO makes.

Metropolitan Museum Visit

On Friday, March 13th Mrs. Christopher and her Drawing Elective went to visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET), in New York City. Students were amazed by the artwork displayed from all eras of art history. Students are seen posing with artwork and artists they admire, such as Pollack, Picasso, Warhol, and Dali. This is the second year CJCP Art students have had the opportunity to see these amazing artworks up close and personal. After learning about the famous works and their artists and then seeing them on the internet, students enjoyed seeing them in the Museum much much more. Overall it was a very successful trip and now students will be working on a compare and contrast of the famous artworks by Picasso and Braque that they saw in person, as well as critiquing one of their favorites using the four steps to critiquing artwork.
