Snowfest'09
Mr. E. Yilmaz`s
11th grade classes learned the physics behind snowboarding and snowtubing at
Camelback Ski Resort. They traced motion with ultrasound detectors from the
top of the hill to the bottom. They recorded the data to the handhelds. They
had a lot of fun while they were learning how potential energy converts into
speed and how frictional forces absorb speed to bring an object to rest.
Students finalized the Snowfest day by buying gifts for their friends at Tannersville Outlet Center.
Students expressed their wishes that this event becomes an annual tradition.
